Myrtle Beach Shoe Service

514 9th Ave, N
Myrtle Beach SC 29577
(843)448-2610

I've had reason to go to Myrtle Beach Shoe Service twice in as many months.   So far, both of my experiences have been alright.

I'm not about bringing the opinion of anyone else to this blog, except my own.  I really can't go by the experiences of others as I have no idea the nature of their unique circumstances and quite frankly, there are people who, even though I love them to pieces...they find fault with anything and everything and are never satisfied.

Having said that, whenever I tell anyone that I've had to have shoes fixed in a hurry and that I went to Myrtle Beach Shoe Service, they...more times than not, tend to roll their eyes in disgust.

It seems my only other option is to take my shoes to a shop in Conway.   It hardly seems worth my time and effort, but in the future, it may be my only choice.

I've found some reviews online about this shop and some people seem to go away happy and others were extremely dissatisfied.

For my part, I had dance shoes which needed new linings.   I found the cut of the lining to be just slightly sloppy or not as polished as I would expect from a professional shoe repair guy.  It wasn't going to be seen by anyone, as the foot would be coverning it, but still.....

Just recently, I needed a rush job on a pair of dance shoes which had a broken clasp.    I thought the cost was reasonable.  The shoes were ready on time and the job was excellent.

As with any service, especially those for which you pay ahead of time...inspect the work thoroughly.   Try the shoes on in the store and walk around in them.

I read a review of this shop written by a highly unhappy customer.   My overall impression after reading the review was that the shoes which were repaired should have been checked over thoroughly before leaving the store.   If the owner ruined a shoe or repaired it incorrectly, then you can take him to task on the spot and either make a request to have money refunded or shoes replaced.

So far I've not had any problems with this place and so I can only pass along my decent experience.    I feel I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I've come across quite a few people who're not pleased with the work churned out by Myrtle Beach Shoe Service and who take their business to Conway.

On good and professional authority, I've been told to never take shoes to this shop to have taps for dance purposes attached, as the owner has never done it correctly.

So, there you have it.

Word to the wise....Buyer Beware!!
